The Køge Kyst partnership
The project will be carried out by the urban development company
Køge Kyst, a partnership between the Municipality of Køge and
Realdania Urban Development.
Køge Kyst's tasks are to include:
- An idea competition and development plan for the entire
area
- Environmental matters
- Land sales
- Dialogue with citizens
- Communication
Køge Kyst is organised as an official partnership, which is
comparable to a public limited company with the associated
regulations concerning articles of association, a board of
directors, minority protection, etc. The company held equity
capital of DKK 240 million when it was founded. The Municipality of
Køge and Realdania Urban Development each own 50 per cent of
Køge Kyst.
The Board
The Board of Directors of the company consists of five members.
Each partner appoints two members and the fifth - the chairman - is
chosen jointly by the two partners.
The composition of the Board of Directors:
- Jørgen Nue Møller (Chairman)
- Marie Stærke, Municipality of Køge
- Flemming Christensen, Municipality of Køge
- Johnna Stark, Municipality of Køge
- Mette Lis Andersen, Realdania Urban Development
- Mette Hald Dige, Realdania Urban Development
- Claus Ravn, Realdania Urban Development
All significant decisions require unanimous agreement between
the partners. This ensures that neither the Municipality of Køge
nor Realdania Arealudvikling has deciding influence in the company,
and that neither party can make decisions without the agreement of
the other.
The Municipality of Køge remains responsible for carrying out its
usual legislatively required municipal tasks. As such, Køge Town
Council will continue to have responsibility for municipal and
local planning, construction permits and environmental approvals in
the urban development area, for example.
Project management
The everyday management of Køge Kyst will be handled by a project
manager with the support of a project secretariat. In addition,
external consultants will be called in regularly to deal with
specific tasks. The company will, of course, work closely with the
two founders: the Municipality of Køge and Realdania Urban
Development.
