The compact town
Compact urban areas provide a range of benefits. Firstly, they
provide the framework for a good, multifaceted urban environment
with sufficient numbers of people in the various areas. This
creates a need for varied activities and urban functions, and forms
the foundations for diversity. At the same time, density provides
good conditions for showing consideration for the
environment.
In principle, therefore, what is expected is a town with a density
comparable to that of Kartoffelrækkerne in Copenhagen, for
example.
The project envisages built-up area percentages of 130 in the
Station Area and on Søndre Havn, and 150 on the Collstrop
Site.
