Possible new railway line

The possible extension of the railway connection between Copenhagen and Ringsted is currently the subject of political discussions and examinations. Two solutions have been proposed: either an expansion of the current railway line via Høje Tåstrup and Roskilde, or construction of a new stretch of line via Køge.

A new railway connection via Køge would cut the transport time between Køge and Copenhagen to just 20 minutes. The new line would not involve running new tracks through Køge, and would therefore not affect the development of the new part of the town.
