Architecture

The vision is to create architectonically exiting buildings of high quality, that benefit the citizens of the town, and which encourage both private citizens and businesses to relocate to the new part of Køge.

Architectural coherence is to be created where the new residential area meets the historical town centre in the Station Area.

Greater freedom will apply to the remainder of the area, thus allowing for more experimental architecture, including buildings higher than those currently to be found in Køge.

Otherwise it is up to the professional participants in the idea competition - architects, town planners, etc. - to asses the extent to which the existing Søndre Havn buildings can be used for new purposes.
