Retail trade to highlight Køge as an attractive commercial town

There is a desire to expand the existing historical town centre with appreciably more retail trade, opening the door to larger types of shops and a more varied range of goods. The new and old retail trade areas will be integrated so that pedestrians can experience numerous natural walking routes throughout the town centre.

The physical framework for the retail traders will be designed in harmony with both commercial requirements and the structure and identity of the historical town. Consideration will also be given to integration with the existing historical buildings in the area, and the planning of the area is to assure coherence in traffic for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.
