Timetable for parallel competition

October
Invitations to participate in the parallel competition will be issued at the end of October. at the same time as work is carried out on the parallel competition brief.

December
At the start of December, interested teams to submit pre-qualification material to Køge Kyst (54 teams submitted their material).

January 2010
End of January: on the basis of the responses to the invitations, 5-7 teams will be selected for pre-qualification. The parallel competition brief (Brief 1) will be sent to these teams (7 teams were selected).

February
A brief seminar will be held at the start of February, where the 7 teams will discuss the parallel competition programme.
The teams will work individually on their process and project descriptions until the middle of March. The process and project descriptions are presented in more detail in the document entitled Parallel Competition.

March
In the middle of March, each of the 7 teams will submit detailed process and project descriptions to Køge Kyst (Submission 1).

April
On the basis of the process and project descriptions, some of the teams will be selected to continue the parallel competition (five teams were selected). The parallel competition brief will be reviewed and specified (Brief 2) and then sent to the five successful teams.
A start-up seminar for the five teams selected will be held in mid/late April. Køge Kyst and invited specialists will also attend the seminar, where the five teams will present their process and project descriptions, and the parallel competition brief will be reviewed.

May
A 2-day seminar for the five teams selected will be held in mid-May. At this seminar, the teams will work on the development plan in dialogue with Køge Kyst, citizens and key stakeholders - e.g. experts in sustainability, infrastructure and retail trade, and potential contractors. On the basis of input from the seminar, it will be possible to complete a final definition of the parallel competition brief (Brief 3).

The five teams will then work individually on the development plan from the 2-day seminar in mid-May and make their final submissions at the start of August.

June
The five teams will work individually on their suggestions for a development plan.

July
The five teams will work individually on their suggestions for a development plan.

August
At the start of August, the five teams will submit their suggestions for a development plan (Submission 2).
Also at the start of August, the five proposed development plans will be exhibited to the general public, and the five teams will briefly present their proposals. Final evaluation will take place in parallel with the exhibition.

The results of the evaluation and prizes will be presented in the middle of August.

The Board of Directors of Køge Kyst will present the prizes.

On the basis of the five development plan proposals - and good ideas from the process and project descriptions from the introductory round - work will continue on a final development plan. Depending on the results of the parallel competition, one of the three proposals may form the basis for - or actually constitute - the final development plan.
