Køge Kyst is organized as a partnership between The Municipality of Køge and Realdania By & Byg, each owning 50 percent of the company.
The partnership is comparable to a public limited company with the associated regulations concerning articles of association, a board of directors, minority protection etc.
The Municipality of Køge is responsible for carrying out its usual legislatively required municipal tasks. As such, Køge Town Council will continue to have responsibility for e.g. municipal and local planning, construction permits and environmental approvals.
Realdania By & Byg works to ensure quality in the urban development and the company considers it essential that the development of Køge Kyst is carried out with full consideration for the interests of the general public.
Project Management
Køge Kyst is developed by the development company “Køge Kyst P/S”. CEO Peter Kjølby with the support of his project secretariat handle everyday management. The company collaborates closely with the two owners: The Municipality of Køge and Realdania By & Byg.
The board
The Board of Directors consists of seven members. Each partner appoints three members and the seventh - the chairman - is chosen jointly by the two partners.

All significant decisions require unanimous agreement between the partners. This ensures that neither the Municipality of Køge nor Realdania By & Byg has deciding influence in the company, and that neither party can make decisions without the agreement of the other.
The Municipality of Køge remains responsible for carrying out its usual legislatively required municipal tasks. As such, Køge Town Council will continue to have responsibility for municipal and local planning, construction permits and environmental approvals in the urban development area, for example.
